Warriors ROCK!

WHITTIER WARRIORS

Whittier Middle School is located in central Norman and currently serves approximately 1050 students in grades 6-8.  We are the largest Norman middle school, and we are the feeder school for Adams, Cleveland, Truman, and Roosevelt Elementary Schools and Norman North High School.  We have 4 administrators, 3 counselors, and 85 staff members including 65 certified faculty.  We have 2 gifted resource teachers, a full-time librarian, a Nationally Board Certified school psychologist, a certified speech pathologist, and a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Whittier has 6 Nationally Board Certified Teachers

At Whittier, we look forward to working with students, parents, and community partners to assist children in the fulfillment of their educational goals.  Whittier has a history of fine academic and extra-curricular accomplishments.  Our 2009-10 State of Oklahoma Academic Performance Index (API) is 1322.

Our school motto is "Warriors ROCK!" Whittier students and teachers show RESPECT, OPTIMISMCOMMITMENT, and KINDNESS daily and understand that these basic principles are fundamental aspects of our success.

We expect our students to set goals that will ease the transition from elementary to middle grades and that will prepare them for success both within and beyond high school.  We have ONE GOAL: STUDENT SUCCESS.
